About Sean Harrigan
In 1990 I worked my first season in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The West was a welcome change from Western Upstate New York where I had just completed an associates degree at Finger Lakes Community College.
In Yellowstone I worked on Maintenance and Historical Preservation crews while enjoying all the park's offerings. By 1995 I had begun my own Painting Contracting business based out of Bozeman and later Livingston. In 2008 I advanced my education as my business grew and customers began requesting highly sophisticated restorations.
My wife and I moved to Minneapolis for a year where I attended The National Institute of Wood Finishing at Dakota County Technical College under the watchful eye of educator Mitch Kohanek. This exciting new education and skill set has lead me to become a specialized craftsman in a unique field.
I continue to pursue new and old techniques in the refinishing industry traveling to meet with other finishers, craftspeople, artists and conservators on a regular basis to broaden my knowledge and expand my skills.
My interests and activities include wooden boat building, camping, hiking, rafting, biking, skiing, and occasional radio DJ at KGLT Bozeman. Most of all I enjoy the company of my family while we pursue outdoor activities.

In 2006, the Bozeman Preservation Advisory Board presented me with an Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation in the category of Craftsman Contribution to Historic Preservation.
